Rafa cracked me up on talk Sport this morn

"So you got Sunderland soon... see Sam Alardyce has said about how you two don't get along"
"That;s true... he does not like me... and I don't like him... I have won lots of trophies... and he has won none... I think that is the reason he does not like me"

OM - Agreed, but I also think Benitez is genuinely happy to go there too. He wants to work and he wants to work in the PL. They're a fairly big club with big passionate crowds, and it's not a million miles away from where his family are. A good deal for both parties.

Do you reckon Martinez will manage to keep Everton up, Macca son?

Re: McLaren Gone.
I think they've been very fortunate in getting him, PD son. His pedigree speaks for itself.

It looks like a 2 horse race to keep them up. If he manages to do it I suspect this season of absolute shit for Newcastle will prove to be a blessing in disguise.

I guess Rodgers and Moyes will be the two hovering when Premiership jobs next come up.
And what the hell has happened to Nigel Pearson with jobs like Derby etc coming up?
Maybe on a SE Asian gap year with his SON visiting various FLESH-POTS?

There's some managers I think are OVERRATED, Macca.

Ones that I think are actual cunts are Benitez and Martinez.

Might have something to do with EZ?

Re: McLaren Gone.
Isn't Rodgers universally hated on here as well?

Will be interesting how he gets on there, could be bad news for BFS and Sunderland.

Spandex

The fact they came back from 3 goals down to win the champions league it's by definition lucky. Perhaps not to be :/ the game but lucky to win. You're not seriously going to argue his fa cup win wasn't lucky are you?

Benitez is a good manager. Bilic was always my first choice but i would've been pretty happy with rafa.

The fat waiter let us down at the last minute, now he's going down with Newcastle.

Fuck him

Re: McLaren Gone.
I think 'a few lucky cup wins' is a little unfair. You don't win the Champs League by 'fluke' and remember they were massive underdogs in that final AND came back from 3-0 down to win it.

He won the league twice with Valencia, not bad to top Barcelona and Real Madrid, won the cup here and in Italy and the Uefa cup twice.

I don't really understand the grief he gets here, his record is up there with the best.

However whether he's the man for a relegation scrap, well, we will see.

Iron Duke 10:01 Fri Mar 11
Re: McLaren Gone.
I don't really rate Benitez and expect the Geordies to go down now. He did well at Valencia but a few lucky cup wins aside didn't do much since considering the clubs he managed. We shall see.
